A former factory and Beijing landmark has been transfo
上海419女神会所rmed into an intangible cultural heritage park in the capital’s downtown.
Several modern-looking buildings and a big lawn at its heart easily set Yongyuan apart from its hutong surroundings.
Yongyuan park sits on Xingfu Street in Beijing’s Dongcheng district where the Sanlu P上海419
lant, a well-known cosmetics manufacturer back in the ’80s and ’90s, once stood.
上海419女神会所The Sanlu Plant’s Dabao skincare brand was a household name nationwide, and the plant develope
d more than 100 products in markets such as hair care and fragrances. It contributed over 100 mil
lion yuan ($14.57 million) to the economy in the 1990s, making it Beijing’s number one taxpayer.上海419
In 2003, the plant’s cosmetics production line was transferred
out of the city, leaving the land at the center of the capital open for new use.
The Sanlu Plant began its search for a tenant and in 2018, Hong上海419
Kong-listed Beijing Capital Land came in and decided to develop its cultural operations.上海419女神会所
“The proprietor sympathizes with the concept of the cultural and creative indu
stries, and intangible cultural heritage,” says Li Yue, general manager with the inta
ngible cultural heritage platform, which Beijing Capital Land established last year.

The visit took place in this important year, which marks the 70th anni

The restoration process starts with scanning the film negatives or prints into a digital pict上海419
ure and raw sound format. Then each frame of the scanned material undergoes an automated digital res
toration process that involves the correction of color, brightness, and contrast. The process also involves the digital removal of scratches and u上海419
nnecessary noises, restoration and remastering of sound, said Liu Junhui, a senior director from iQiyi.
Even with the aid of AI technologies, digital restoration of old productions is no mean feat, as上海419品茶微信
increasing the image resolution is one thing, but restoring its original texture is quite another, which
上海419requires technologies, as well as a craftsmanship spirit. For instance, 30-plus members of the Youku digital r
estoration team worked for as long as a month to fully restore the 1983 megahit, The Bund.
“Our team has made various attempts to enhance audiences’ viewing experience. If only the definition is increased through transcoding, audiences may feel that the ima上海419品茶微信
ges have been doctored through filters. So we went to great lengths to restore the texture that is unique to the pe
riod when the classical series was shot,” said Guo Linna, a senior visual optimization engineer from Youku.
Though Youku’s digital restoration team is made up of no more than 40 members who上海419
do not work full time, every week it can restore 100-plus episodes of old TV dramas.
Speaking of her original motivation, Guo said that she chose to restore those old TV series bec
上海419品茶微信ause on the one hand, she wanted the post-80s generation to have better access to recalling childhood memories, a
nd on the other hand, she wanted the younger generation to gain new experience through watching these classic works.
he Chinese climbers occupy 50 percent of my total client base in mountaineering,” Lakpa told Xinhua in an interview rece

Lakpa feels that he has made himself recognized in China after working with many Chines上海419

上海419品茶微信tially because of language. “I used to rely more on sign language to communicate with them,” Lakpa revealed.
Based on the advice of Chinese climbers, he learnt Chinese language which has been handy for hi

ing the expedition on the mountains. “So, I arrange Chinese cooks for them,” revealed Lakpa.
上海419品茶微信In recent years, the number of Chinese along with Indian citizens willing to climb N
epal’s highest mountains is growing rapidly. Most of them aim to reach the top of Mount Qomolangma.
According to Nepal’s Department of Tourism, it permitted a total of 67 Chinese nationals to climb Mount Qom上海419
olangma this spring season as they came third behind climbers from India (78) and the US (75) in receiving climbing permits.上海419
The department has not confirmed how many Chinese climbers reached the top of Mount Qomola上海419品茶微信
ngma. It said that a total 659 climbers and their assistants reached the summit of the world’s highest peak.
“The number of Chinese climbers is still low compared to Chinese population,” Lakpa s
aid pointing out that there is a lot of room for Chinese market to grow for Nepal’s mountaineering sector.
Stressing on why Chinese market should be focused, Lakpa said that Chine
se are among the climbers who spend lavishly for the guides. “They spend more than We
stern climbers in most cases. They also give handsome tips to their guides,” said Lakpa.
Limiting the spirit of open scientific research by monitoring Chinese students and scientis

The FBI is urging universities to monitor some of their Chinese students and scholars in the country. According to a report on Na
tional Public Radio, US intelligence agencies are encouraging US research universities to develop pr上海419
otocols for monitoring students and visiting scholars from Chinese State-affiliated research institutions.
Since last year, FBI officials have visited at least 10 members of the Association of American Universitie上海419品茶微信

“We are being asked what processes are in place to know what labs they are working at or what inform上海419
ation they are being exposed to,” Fred Cate, vice-president of research at Indiana University, told NPR. “It’s not a question of j
上海419品茶微信ust looking for suspicious behavior-it’s actually really targeting specific countries and the people from those countries.”
A series of actions over the past few years has heightened concerns among Chinese and Chinese Amer
ican scholars, including the arrest of China-born scientists, the firing of several others and clo
sure of their labs, frequent calls from the FBI and visits to many individuals without any charge and a tightened visa process.上海419品茶微信
In a panel discussion at the China Institute in New York on June 27, Chinese A
merican scientists agreed that the freedom of scientific research in the US faces serious challenges.
“This is a challenging time for US-China relations,” said Fred Yan, president of the Chinese Association for Science and Technology, USA.上海419品茶微信
“China is perceived to be in contention with the US for global dominance. Whether it’s t
rue or not, we Chinese Americans and Chinese students who are legally here are caught in between,” he said.
Xi Xiaoxing, a physics professor at Temple University, said he believes limitin

Four years ago, Xi was accused by the State Department of sharing a US company’s technology with China. The charges were dropped after a few months.

Global leaders from economies that represent over 80 percent of the w

nomy, trade and investment, innovation, the environment, energy and employment.
The summit comes amid growing concerns that trade friction between China and the US threatens global economic growth.
“China strives to expand economic and trade partnerships via multilateral trading platforms or regional economic cooper
ation mechanisms, which, to some degree, help boost confidence in the international community,” Zhou said.
